Here's to the gloomy season and embracing it with the classic ole' all black outfit.

With the trend ongoing, i decided to join the crowd and put on my sheer top

Underneath the sheer tank, i was wearing HAY United's Art Pop Stripes Sports Bra. They have such vibrant sportswear designs and the best part is that it's a local brand. #ImABigFanofLocalBrands

"Embrace your weirdness"

Why did i name this outfit post THREE? because well i merged three looks into one. The goth, the classic and the hipster. Also, i had my three DIY bbys with me. The Cuffs, Bohemian-thug head chain and the Halo ring.

Deets:

Skirt from H&M

Oxford Shoes from OFFICE

Last Friday night i had the golden ticket (yes, it's golden) to watch the closing show of Jakarta Fashion Week 2015 a.k.a Dewi Fashion Knights 2014, show casing 5 A-List Indonesian Designers. This year the designers are Priyo Oktaviano, Iwan Tirta, Sapto Djojokartiko, Vinora, Auguste Soesastro & Nurzahra.

Each of the designers showed great talents and ethnicity from their own style. Priyo Oktaviano used a lot of different textured fabrics and beads but for this couture collection he explored on different shades of blue. As for Iwan Tirta, they brought formal batik shirts to another different level (As always). However, their women collection had a much more modern touch to it but still shad the traditional look to it. Sapto Djokokartiko's collection for this year's DFK reminded me a lot of Elie Saabs evening gowns. He mostly used creme/beige colors with sequins. Auguste Soesatro's design was very metropolitan. Just like in the picture above, his clothes are very comfortable, breezy and simple. Nurzahra's collection brought hijabs to the runway with a very traditional style.

Above all, two particular designers wowed me that night with not only one piece, but their whole collection

A few weeks ago i said that i was putting a break on my blog as i'll be working on a project for a fashion design competition. Well, unfortunately i am too young to join *shrugs* but i decided to finish what i started. I decided to make my own small Spring/Summer 2015 Collection. Perhaps this will be my thing (making collections for every different seasons of the year). Thus, i did some research and sketched my designs. Due to the limited time i have (i'm literally posting my weekly post at the very last hours of the week), my final designs are drawn in very messy and basic drawing/coloring but for my next collection i'll be exploring with watercolor.

A week ago, I received an invitation to Peggy Hartanto & Sheila Agatha's Fashion Show at Bazaar Fashion Festival 2014. I was delighted. And panicked as well. Why? Well i didn't have a solid outfit plan for the event. Here's two of my very important rule in life. Never go to a fashion event without planning your outfit a week in advanced and Always have outfit B and C. However, i broke that rule. I really couldn't make out a "good enough" outfit for the event. Yes, i can play it safe and wear a mediocre semi-formal outfit like how i always did but i had to stop because 1. I have to stop playing it safe  2. I knew there was going to be a lot of influential people in the fashion world attending the event and who knows maybe my outfit might catch their eyes and voila, i'm their new best friend #dreamingalittletoobig

So, i went around shopping malls but nothing screams out to me. NOTHING. They all had flaws i couldn't see pass through. Now, here's one thing you should know about me. I can shop very slowwwlyy and look at every piece in the store or i can literally just scan through the store and not touch a single piece until i see something that screams out to me. What do i mean by "screams out to me"? It's simply clothes that i stare at a little too long and it will be stuck in my mind until i buy it.
So there i was standing in the middle of a shop looking like a little kid who has lost her mommy.

Then, I realized maybe buying isn't the solution. After all, i can't keep buying clothes every time theres an event but my wardrobe isn't the answer either. That's when the word"DIY" got to me.

Hey guys, so my blog is back in action. Anyways, here's to my first ever street look post!! I am currently in love with oversized, sleazy outfits. I personally think its the best way to embrace having a petite body.

On the 24th of September, i had the chance to watch one very interesting fashion show during the Men's Fashion Week 2014 at Plaza Indonesia.
The show was very overwhelming. Both in positive and negative ways. Let's start with the negative. IT WAS SO PACKED. The MFW management made us leave the room and wait in front of the function hall while they "clean" the area. It took them a tad bit too long to clean such a small area and added with the fact that the audiences did not litter like drunken people in street parties, i really was annoyed by having to squeeze (if i lifted my legs i would still be standing) in such a small room among like 100 people. Since the crowd was much bigger than expected, some of us were told to stand on the runway. Yes, the runway. (you can see in the pictures below).
HOWEVER, the postivie overwhelming factor overshadowed the negative ones. Thus, i can't complain more than i had because OMG i was in the same room with Indonesia's top fashion bloggers, actresses, actors, models, singers and possibly Bryan Boy .. Yes, THE fashion blogger. My fave part was that everybody dressed in their own style, they were mostly in haute couture street style. There, then, i didn't feel like i was in Jakarta. PLUS, I had the chance to see Patrick Owen's collection by my own eyes. Thus, it was worth the squeeze, the wait, the everything.

Infusing Architecture in Fashion

During the launching of Indonesia Design's 'Made in Bali' edition, four well-known Balinese fashion designers showcased their designs and i had the privilege to witness the extravagant fashion show (at Townhouse Club, Seminyak)

Last Sunday i attended a yellow-themed wedding and i decided to go for a different look. Thus, i avoided cocktail dresses. I definitely said no to long dresses, #1 because i am very petite and i would pretty much drown in a long dress & #2 I fear that i would look 2-3 years older in a long dress. Im not saying that girls around my age shouldn't be wearing long dresses because they would look old. In fact some girls my age can work long dresses very well, #andimsojealous
Anyways, i went for chic crop top and midi skirt because of ..

First of September, first day of college and my first ever blog post. *squeals*

I am officially a Fashion Stylist student in Istituto di Moda Burgo, Jakarta. I didn’t say Fashion Design because i don’t only design/draw outfits but i also make them. Thus this course I’m taking is like a 2 in 1 course (Fashion Design+ Pattern Making). My course is approximately 2 years long and I’m supposedly having half of my course in Milan. Long story short, i’m a freaking fashion student!! No more maths, physics or history.

Anyways, let me tell you about my first day. I wasn’t really nervous because it took me one and a half hour to my college and so my nerves died down a little bit in the midst of traffic, for the first time ever I’m thankful of the traffic. On the way there, I thought to myself today is the day that I will find out if fashion is really what I should be doing (even though it's too late because I paid my college fee already) because if today I struggle with my tasks and have the mindset of “ I have to draw this” instead of “I want to draw this” and its going to be one long boring day for me then I would have my life as a one long boring hell. I was late for 15 mins but the teacher greeted me with a smile. The place is very cozy and everyone seemed to be busy with their own tasks so they didn’t really pay attention to the last one-stranded blondie and that made me feel comfortable with the college in an instant. I sat at a roundtable and faced the window. The view showed the metropolitan side of Jakarta, even though it was all buildings no greeneries, I didn’t mind it at all. They stuck a few of the seniors’ designs near the window and so I got to look at it for the whole day. Those drawings served as an inspiration for me. Once I settled down, my teacher told me to bring out the book the college provided exclusively for their students. Then she told me to try to copy/draw the human anatomy just like in the book. Honestly, I thought that was the hardest thing she could tell a first timer to do, especially a first timer like me. I SUCK at drawing human figures … and you might think why then did i pick fashion design. Yes at first I hesitated to take this path because of this but surprisingly, it was not that hard. Although it took me well and hour and a half to finish (three human anatomies from different angles), the teacher nodded once she looked at my work as if saying “not bad”, she only did a few corrections and told me to continue and copy the next drawing. So it went on like that. There was a break between 12 to 1 pm and since my college is in a mall, it was not a problem to find lunch. There were a few restaurants but my fave perk of having my college in mall was that there was a supermarket in it!! I can simply buy fruits or snacks at anytime of the day *woot woot*. I came back early from lunch as I was so eager to finish my task. Overall, I spent around 6 hours to draw 8 human figures *pats myself in the back*. Despite my aching neck, I enjoyed my first day and I don’t think it could’ve been any better.

So, that was my first article on the blog. to be honest, I don’t intend to be a professional fashion blogger in the future. Not because I’m against it or anything. This blog simply serves as a space for me to one day in the future, maybe 5 years later, i get to go through and see my whole journey since day one. Thus, “for her future’s reminiscence"
